HUNGER

I have no tears left in me.

My body's grained and in drought

The fragile white lifts me

Maps to my story;the cracks in my skin

My muscles are weak

My skin can no longer cry

My tongue's dry

My eyes carry no hope

The hair strands coiled short

And I ask how I still stand.

My heart pumps air

And I scream in silence for help

My stomach begs

And I search for food

"Here"

I stare at what you give me

I reach out with no energy in me

I crawl to what you have left me

So to silence my stomach

When I get a chance to eat

My organs dance

But for how long?

Soon I'm back to that state
