Stranger

When I was a teenager

I fell in love with a stranger

We often sat on the rocks eating ginger

I didn't know I was putting my life in danger

She was so beautiful and bold

I wanted to treasure her like she was gold

And I believed every lie she ever told

She loved me only when it was cold

And now she's no more to hold

My dream was to take her to the lake

Until I realised that her love was fake

She loved me for my own sake

I told her that I love like a true male

And my love is not for sale

When I was a teenager

I fell in love with a stranger

We often sat on the rocks eating ginger

I didn't know I was putting my life in danger

She was so beautiful and bold

I wanted to treasure her like she was gold

And I believed every lie she ever told

She loved me only when it was cold

And now she's no more to hold

My dream was to take her to the lake

Until I realised that her love was fake

She loved me for my own sake

I told her that I love like a true male

And my love is not for sale
