A Face

I remember a face A face that helped me appreciate life in so many ways I remember a face A face that brought joy in my sad days A face that lightened up my eyes when I was blind A face that eased things on my mind A pretty face A special face A loving and caring face But what happened to that face My heart is filled with memories that I cannot erase Was everything just a passing phase? I gave you my world I gave you my heart Under my heart you crawled And torn it apart A man does not cry But I let you see my tears You promised me a world full of bright stars But you gave me a life full of so many scars
