The Good Daughter

INSERT FIVE

SIHLE

An hour later I was at home with bheka and Xoli..am glad Xoli agreed to help me because if not then I was screwed for sure seeing that dad was in a bad mood but was trying to hide it. He had come back early from his trip and he had guests over with him...let me take you back to some time back

After we got back from pavilion mall we were met by bheka who had a very serious look on his face. We went out to meet him that's when he told me dad was back and he had come with important guests that he had wanted me to meet mom had obviously lied and told  Dad I was with Xoli so thanks to bheka quick thinking he called Xoli who was still around so he got her then came to get me. We had to get my stuff from the house quickly then rush home.

So here i was standing in front of dad and some old man who was talking to this young cute guy. U guy umuhle yena mara shame he doesn't beat my baby he looked like one of those trust fund babies. Dad asked me to show Nkanyezi around the house and offer him some food. I was tired and annoyed by this because right now I would be making sweet love to my baby but no I was wanted home so I could show this trust fund baby around...the tour was very short because I kept yawning on the way and he could see I was annoyed. We went downstairs and had dinner the table was filled with political talks from what I gathered the old man was the mec and the trust fund baby was his son. Dad kept on mentioning how much of a respectable young lady I was and the course I was doing it was like he was selling me to this guy and his son.... after dinner they left and I went to my room only to have mom and dad join me

Dad: my angel sit up straight we need to talk

My eyes darted from dad to mom and she just looked away.

Mom: we love you and everything we do is for your well being you know that right.

Dad: let me handle this...angel see Mr Zulu and I have been friends very good friends. When he approached me with a good business deal I couldn't let him down...he wants you to be his daughter in law

I thought dad was joking but seeing the seriousness in his face and mom looking away confirmed that they were serious. Dad was selling me for a business deal I was too shocked to answer him tears just rolled down my face I didn't love the guy I had just met him and now I had to marry him.

Dad: I know you are shocked but trust me marrying Nkanyezi sure beats dating that loser Sandile....don't think for a second that I don't know about him. You are going to end it with that useless boy and focus on your wedding which is going to be in a few months time. He left us sitting there.

Me: mom... please do not allow him to sell me like this...I love Sandile with all my heart I don't want anyone else but him.

Mom: oh mtanam I have no say in all this...I know it hurts but you have to obey your dad...shhh unga khali.

I must've passed out because I woke up to my phone ringing and my room was very dark. I checked the screen it was Sandile I didn't have the strength to face him...

Sandile

I have been trying to call Sihle for a while now but she wasn't answering my calls. I was worried that maybe something had happened to her I couldn't even eat or sleep and now it was 11pm...I wanted to drive to her house and check her but the house was heavily guarded and I can't risk having the other guards seeing me with bheka. My mother came in to check on me as I was sitting outside..see we live in a 3 roomed house that my mother built with her own hands. My father left us when I was just five years old then Nokubonga was just barely a month old apparently he found himself a young wife as my mother was damaged goods now when my father left we had two rondavels which fell and mother had to get a job to build the house for us to stay in. Life was hard but I managed to build myself my own two room outside so I could get my own privacy...what I love the most is that my mother is so strong because she worked 3 Jobs while raising us not even once has she dedicated her life on the bottle like most woman here in my community.

Mother: khabazela*she calls me by my clan name* kwenzenjan sale wa buya umuncu nje

Me: it's nothing ma...why are you not in bed

Mother: I can't sleep seeing you hurting like this. What happened did you and MaGumede fight

Me: no ma...bheka came and took her since I've been trying to call her she's not answering her phone.

Mother: so you thinking of going to her place

Me: how did you know that.

Mother: you my son and I know you love her too much...so awusho ulale naye

Me: ma...haibo. I can't be talking to you about sex

Mother: ow...so you did...if Gumede finds out be prepared to pay for deflowering his only daughter. Go and sleep you will check on her tomorrow it's late now.

We went to bed but my heart was still torn I needed to hear my love voice.....
