part 9 life with Elijah

[TABITHA]

I answer the phone in confusion. Tabitha: E?

Woman: Hello.

I silently check the screen just to see if it was Elijah calling.

Woman: Hello?

I swallow the lump stuck in my throat. Why would a woman be calling me using Elijah's phone?

Tabitha: Hi.

Woman: Tabitha I'm Helen. Elijah's sister. This is weird. Tabitha: Yes Helen.

Helen: Unjani sisi?

Tabitha: I'm alright and you? Helen: I'm good. Listen my brother here is mute. He can't talk.

Tabitha: What? How?

Helen: Unfortunately I'm as clueless it all started yesterday in the evening when he was supposed to drive to Pretoria. His legs just stopped working out of the blue and he can't walk at all.

I gasp in shock.

Helen: Yeah and then now I just came to bring him his food and when he wanted to say something but it was just utter silence.

Now I'm just soaked in confusion and I'm wet with questions.

Tabitha: Oh my God.

Helen: He requires you to be here. Please if maybe you can make a way to come and see him.

Tabitha: I'm at work right now. Please give me an hour or two?

Helen: Okay.

Tabitha: Thank you.

I hang up and my hand stops quaking on the spot.

I toss my tongue in my mouth and I'm just amazed.

My class will be here in less than 15 minutes. I need to finish these corrections before I leave.

Theprincipal gave me permission to leave so I'm in my car now driving to Fairlands.

Upon my arrival I park on the driveway and a big curvaceous woman lofty woman opened the door.

Helen: Tabitha?

I smile innocently and she moves aside welcoming me in.

“I'm Helen.” She posses a very husky voice. It's like dust blended with some rough powder and smoke. Not that I can describe how sensational.

Tabitha: Nice to meet you. She smiles warmly.

Helen: He's in his bedroom...I'm sure you know where that is.

How dare she?!

I blink a couple of times my signature style when I feel insulted.

Tabitha: No I don't.

Helen: Oh really? I don't like this girl already.

I blink spontaneously and nod.

She walks ahead and I'm following behind looking at her behind. It's too much it's not too much maybe... It's even weird I'm debating about the hugeness of her jiggling butt. I touch mines as we're walking and I actually feel like I have nothing back here. She slightly opens the door for me to get in.

She closes the door and Elijah lifts his eyes at me with a bible in hand.

“Elijah?”

I whisper and he signals that I should move closer.

I approach him anxiously and sit on the space he made for me to.

Tabitha: Elijah? What's wrong... Can you hear me?

He nods his head and slightly smiles.

He starts speaking in sign language jokingly. I laugh.

Really? Who does that when something so bad happens to them?

Tabitha: You're a lunatic.

He takes his tablet and starts typing. When he stops he gave me to read.

“Thank you for coming. This is so awkward but. I just need you to be here for me.”

Tabitha: What's wrong? I give him back the device. He types again.

"I don't know. I think God is punishing me or something." Tabitha: *sigh* What did you do?

"I can't think of anything. But I think this has something to do with yesterday's anointing day."

Hmm... This is just intense.

Tabitha: Then how can I help you?

 "God isn't saying anything

"God isn't saying anything I need a way forward."

Tabitha: I think we should pray for a way forward.

He nods his head.

I hold his hand gently and he closed his eyes softly. . .

[ELIJAH]

I'm filled with gratitude and contentment that Tabitha showed up. It really means alot when someone you think doesn't really care about you show you they care discreetly.

That's very sweet.

She was praying and I was joining her in spirit because of my condition.

Tabitha: Lord we need your guidance we need you to show us the way on what to do. Lead us be the shepherd that we need at this moment Father.

I slightly open my eyes and she halted for a moment. The sensations in my body is lighter and soothing like I'm transitioning into this spiritual atmosphere.

I shut my eyes and a book comes into view. I'm perplexed by this as it automatically opens up.

When I try and read what's in the book it's lustre blinds my eyes and I can't read it. It closes itself and I'm nowhere near understanding.

I can hear Tabitha's voice praying explicitly and I open my eyes. She was in tears.

After a fair moment of silence she opens her eyes too and wipes her tears.

Tabitha: I tried to connect. It's hard... She eventually sobs. “I'm sorry.”

I want to say something but I'm flippen mute. It's frustrating!

Tabitha: I'm still finding myself too so I'm still trying to figure out. Did God just forsake me? It's like I'm heavy.

I draw her to my chest and coddle her. It's hard finding your lost yourself trying to discover more after going through darkest parts of life. But at the same time you discover new and the incredible because of darkness.

My late parents used to tell me: Stars shine in the darkness not in the light. Be glad to be in darkness but remain hopeful and shine in every tunnel. Remain positive.

In my arms I was holding a rare gem and the feeling hasn't yet crystallized. It's something but it hasn't come into focus. It's an identifiable feeling in my soul. I want to confess my love for her on the spot. I try to speak but still nothing comes out. I purposely kissed her forehead while she's uncontrollably sobbing.

Maybe she's not that strong enough on her own but I'll be that star in these dark hours. I know this I've been through this exact path. It's going to take some time but I think we just need to be there for eachother. I need her as much. I need to know what's in that book and I think she will have the answers. . .

[NKAZIMULO]

Zimu just left a few minutes ago and I'm left in the office to day dream.

My mind is preoccupied. I texted Ncebsi "After class please alert me."

I recieve a phone call from a foreign number. I hesitantly answer.

Nkazimulo: Hello?

Caller: Precious little prophet of Nyod.

Nkazimulo: Who's this?

Caller: It's Owen.

Nkazimulo: What do you want?

Owen: We have to talk. Nkazimulo: We have nothing to talk about.

Owen: Shut up and listen.

My heart grasps the firmness of his voice.

Owen: I'll be flying down to SA in a few days. Make sure that I'm comfortably near you. We have to talk.

He cut the call and immediately my heart pounds my body is reacting unexpectedly. I'm scared and I'm not sure why....
