My unexpected altercation with Zinhle has put my name on the lips of many and it's such a bad first impression for the new girl in town because everyone now sees me as this ghetto girl with no self-control and it would take a lot of myself to actually redeem myself and have the clear record I once had. To be honest it wasn't my list to overreact and almost end up choking a girl I barely knew to death but it also wasn't my list to be written on the walls on such a negative light by someone who barely knew me as well and the non existent relationship I have with her former lover.

"So that was extreme." Says Brenda as we walk up the hill from the road as we walk back home after school.

"Would you please drop that? I told you a million times that I've apologized for it geez."

"I'm sorry it's just that I have never seen you that angry before. It's like you were completely someone else and you weren't...well you."

"Yeah I'm sorry I shouldn't have pushed you out of the way like that."

"It's okay I just honestly didn't think you were that type to pick fights like that."

"Yoo somandla! Are we gonna talk about this all the way home? It's over mos and she's completely fine."

"I'm sorry I'm sorry let's move on."

"Finally that's good. I want to forget about this entire thing and put it behind me and pretend as if it didn't happen."

"That would be a good thing for the both of us."

"Yeah I feel so embarrassed right now and I can't wait for the next scandal of the school that will bury mine to the ground and I know Mlu is smitten wherever he is."

"Yeah he's gonna think you're head over his heels for him and that you were defending his honor."

"Except he doesn't have any."

We proceed to walk on the endless heat and my mind shifts to that brief conversation I had with Mr Ndlovu on his English period when I came back from the nurses office. I sat on my desk as he began the lesson then suddenly he called me out of the classroom to have a conversation with me and his expensive cologne still lingers on me the moment he hugged me.

"Uhm

"Uhm Nqobile can you please meet me outside for a brief moment." He said placing the papers on his desk as he walked outside.

"What did I do now?" I whispered to Brenda as I got up.

"I don't know don't look at me." I then walked outside and met him there as he stood wearing his black jeans and grey t-shirt tucked in and a brown belt to compliment the look.

"How are you?" He asked looking at me concerned.

"I'm okay."

"So what was going on back there? You know I've heard great things about you from your teachers and I was so shocked to learn that you are the talented Nqobile they spoke of."

"I do apologize for my unexpected behavior. I honestly don't know what came over me she wrote some vile things about me and I know that's not an excuse but..."

"No there's no need to explain any further. I just wanted to make sure that you were fine and ready for today's lesson and to put everything behind."

"Yes I am okay despite hating my new school and this new neighborhood. I miss my old friends and I feel like I don't even fit in here."

"So you're new here?"

"Yeah sort of."

"Well that's one thing we have in common and don't worry you'll be fine."

"I hope so" I said as a tear suddenly crawled it's way into the world.

"Don't cry." He said hugging me and I still remember the warmth of his blood on my hands and for some reason I just can't stop thinking about me for some reason.
